Jodi Schefers

FUNERAL DIRECTOR

I grew up on Lake Vermilion. I have always been a bit ambitious. I was blessed to choose post secondary option, graduating from Tower-Soudan High School and Mesabi Community College in 1993. I attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis Program of Mortuary Science. I was also honored to learn and work with the great Charlie Snyder and Frank Sutliff back in the day. I worked at funeral homes in Minnesota, and worked 13 years at (what was) Delta Dental, Gilbert call center outside of funeral service.

My husband’s name is Mike, We have 4 children together. We married in 2008 and moved to SWFL in 2014 to escape the MN winters. Mike loves working on Ft Myers Beach enjoying sunshine everyday, and working at Aldi's. We and our children were all born in MN. Friends and family keep us connected to the Range and to FL.

Madelyn is our oldest daughter, currently working as the receptionist at Range in Virginia. Our son Davin will graduate this May 2023 from Ida S Baker high school in Cape Coral. Our youngest son Cash will be a junior at the same school. Our youngest daughter Ellie is a 6th grader at Caloosa middle school of Cape Coral.

My passion is helping people and animals, and living as much adventure as I can find. I love sauna, learning new skills and spending time with my family. My parents died in 2021 and 2022 and I was given the opportunity to come back to help. Of course, I accepted. I am blessed to work alongside Teri Welch (pre need) and my daughter every day. Funeral service has changed. We are here to help and make the worst time in a family’s life somewhat easier. Please let us know how we can help.

Teri is our office manager and has been with Range Funeral Home since May of 2008.  She grew up in Cloverdale and is now a resident of Hibbing.  Making sure each family’s wants and needs are met is her top priority.

FUNERAL ASSISTANT

I grew up in Inver Grove Heights, MN, relocating to the Iron Range in 2018. I am a Father of Two children, one daughter, and one son. I am a proud fur father to 4 English Bulldogs and a Shepard/Lab, and three cats. When I am not at work, you can usually find me with my significant other, Robin, outdoors, playing cards, Kayaking, exploring in the Side by Side, and enjoying family time.   I currently serve on the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, I am the Lead Medicolegal Death Investigator for the Midwest Medical Examiner Office, and I have worked at Range Funeral home since June 2019. I attended the University Of North Dakota for Death Investigation and Forensic Science.

I had always felt that, as an individual, it is our responsibility to give back to the community we live in. I am grateful that I have been provided with that opportunity. I feel blessed to work with the individuals at Range Funeral Home as they have provided me with guidance, support, and leadership, as well as friendship. The exemplary character of the men and women I work with has made me want to strive to be a better person. I am honored to care for your family and loved ones in this difficult time.
