William Denzel Obituary

On March 7, 2024, William Raymond Denzel (Bill), 85, passed away peacefully in his Iron, MN home surrounded by loved ones.


Bill was born on February 21, 1939 in Garden Valley Wisconsin to Raymond and Mathilda Denzel.


He was the youngest of 5 siblings. Bill lived a very long, happy, busy and active life. Some of Bill’s greatest interests included stock car racing, hobby farming, and hauling gravel to local residents.


Bill served in the United States Army from 1958-1960 alongside of Elvis Presley. Shortly after Bill moved to Iron, MN he built Denzel’s court. He retired as an Ironworker in 1996, and went on to start Denzel’s Excavating.


Bill is survived by sister, Sugar Woelber; significant other, Gail Lanyk; former wife, Sharon Denzel; son, Dusty Denzel (Michelle Lovaas); Grandchildren: Ryan Denzel, and Krissy (Jason) Anderson; Great Grandchild, Kade Baty-Denzel, and another Great Grandchild, Layla Anderson on the way.


Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Delores Bullis, Tootie Josephs, Richard Denzel; and wife, Barb Denzel.
