Warren "Skip" W. Erickson

Warren W. "Skip" Erickson, age 85, of Virginia, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Waterview Pines in Virginia, Minn.

Skip was born in Virginia, Minn. on January 4, 1939, to parents, Onnie and Helen (Maki) Erickson.

He graduated from the Mt. Iron High School, Class of 1958.

After graduating from high school, Skip served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1964.

After serving in the Air Force, he worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel Minntac; retiring in 2000.

Skip enjoyed hunting and fishing and visiting with friends at Mac's Bar and the American Legion.

Skip is survived by his wife, Dixie Erickson and her children: Keith (Jodi) Sweatt, Kevin Sweatt, Karri (Bob) Cargill, Karla Belleville, and daughter, Tami Erickson; sisters, Connie Kinnunen and Sheila (Lou) Stocco; brother, Chuck Erickson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Skip was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Curt and Bruce Erickson; former partner, Phoebe Lustila; and brother-in-law, Tom Kinnunen.

A Celebration of Life for Skip will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Mt. Iron with the visitation being at 10:00 a.m. and the Celebration beginning at 11:00 a.m. Casual dress attire is encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to your favorite charity.
