Walter A. Krause, 91, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Edgewood Vista in Virginia. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Range Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00 pm. Walter Arthur Krause was born June 17, 1926 in Eveleth to Arthur and Helmi (Dixon) Krause. He attended Virginia High School. Following high school, Walter enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII in the Pacific Theater. On June 13, 1950, he was united in marriage to Mary Helen Jones. Walter was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Virginia, retiring in 1981.
Walter was an avid bowler and was a member of several leagues at the Plaza Bowl and the Virginia Bowling Gardens. He spent many happy vacations on Ash River Trial and wintered in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of the Eveleth Elks Club.

Children: Susan Krause (John Kauppila), Cathy Peritz, James (Terri) Krause, and Jerome Krause (Patrick Peralta)

Sister-in-law: Patti Pratt
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Krause; son-in-law, Gary Peritz; brother-in-law, George Pratt; and sister-in-law, Marianne Krause
