Vernon Larry Dahl passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Aurora, Minnesota.
Born on November 5, 1932, in Duluth, Minnesota, Vern lived a full life marked by commitment to his family, service to his country, and appreciating many simple joys in life.
Vern's formative years were spent in the town of his birth, where he was involved in Boy Scouts earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Aurora High School and, after completing his education at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he proudly served in the United States Navy. Vern married Sylvia Laurila in 1954; and embarked on a successful career as an Electrical General Foreman at Erie Mining Company/LTV Mine in Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota. He loved to fish, golf, bowl and listen to music.
Vern was preceded in death by his parents, Nora and Larry Dahl; sister, Patsy Dahl; wife, Sylvia Dahl; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Linda Dahl; and grandchild, Aaron Dahl.
He is survived by his children: Terri Peterson, Sandra (Brady) Overton, and William (Nicole) Dahl. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Craig Massich, Donny Peterson, Adam (Alana) Dahl, Alison (Jason) Stanaway, Ashley (Peyton) Servaty, Taylor Overton, Stephan Overton, Gavin Dahl, Ava Dahl, and Aiden Dahl; as well as his great-grandchildren: Isabelle Dahl, Landon Dahl, Paisley Dahl, Nora Stanaway, Maryn Stanaway, and Duane Peterson.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, April 18th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia, Minnesota.
