Valerie L. Wright

Dr. Valerie Lindbeck Wright, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 21st, 2023 in Virginia, MN.

She was born on August 15th, 1968 in Ely, MN and graduated from Ely High School in 1986. She excelled and starred in her high school choir and enjoyed playing mixed couples softball with her mother, Carol. Her education continued at Vermilion Community College in Ely, followed by the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and ultimately graduated from the St. Paul campus with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She connected with her husband Garland (Mick) Wright in 1991, and the two were married on the shores of Burntside Lake on June 24th, 1995. Their daughter Carlie was born shortly after in October of 1996, and the couple moved back home outside the city of Virginia.

Valerie worked at Northland Animal Hospital for over 26 years caring for small animals across the Iron Range. In her free time, she loved to fish, camp, canoe, kayak, and spend time with Tater and Mash at their lakeplace on the Kawishiwi River.

She is survived by her mother Carol (Lesar) Lindbeck, husband Garland Wright, and daughter Carlie (Chris) Schneider. She was also a beloved cousin, niece, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her father Calvin Lindbeck.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia, MN on Saturday, July 29th, with visitation at 10:00 am and service starting at 11:00 am.
