Susan "Sue" Marie (nee Jackson, formerly Herhusky) Pasch

Susan “Sue” Marie Pasch (nee Jackson, formerly Herhusky) passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by her loving family in Duluth, Minnesota.

Sue was born on June 30, 1957, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Her father, Robert Jackson, served in the Army at Kagnew Station, Asmara, Ethopia, and Sue would spend many of her early years there with her family before permanently returning the United States. After living briefly in Florida, her family would return to Tower, Minnesota, and she would go on to graduate from Tower High School in 1975.

Sue spent her career caring for individuals with disabilities with Lutheran Social Services, which was something she cared deeply about. She would often bring residents that had no place to go back to her home for the holidays.

In her retirement, she would enjoy camping at Fish Lake with her husband Phil and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and academic events. Grandma Sue was always available to help shuttle grandchildren or watch them when they were little.

Sue is survived by her husband, Phillip Pasch; her children: Samantha Little and her husband Jason, Shawn Herhusky and his wife Jaime Herhusky, Josh Pasch and his partner Alicia Sabetti, Katrina Pasch; and her brother Lawrence Jackson and his children Tabea and Myra Jackson; as well as nieces, Lindsay Matti (nee Jackson) and Andrea Jackson.

Sue's life was enriched by her grandchildren: Eloise Herhusky, Savanna Little, Avery Little, and James Ollila.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Jackson; as well as brothers, Robert and Dennis Jackson.

Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her grandchildren, whose lives she touched with love and affection. As we bid farewell to Sue Marie Pasch, we celebrate a life lived. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt the warmth of her love.

A celebration of life will be held at the Virginia MN Elks Lodge No. 1003 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mesabi Humane Society, as Sue was a lifelong dog lover and supporter.
