Ruth Arleen Wirtz

Ruth Arleen Wirtz, 91, of Nashwauk, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 26, at Cloverdale Hall at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Hibbing.

Ruth was born March 16, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA to Francis and Alma (Wichterman) Umbarger. She was united in marriage to Herman Joseph Wirtz on September 4, 1945 in Grand Rapids. She was a faithful and devoted wife for 72 years. She was also a member of the Cloverdale-Nashwauk community and loved coffee time with the neighbors. She always kept a careful watch for friends and visitors. Ruth loved traveling, her favorite destination was Alaska. She also enjoyed the many hunting and fishing trips she took. She was a faithful companion and mother, a great homemaker. She loved her lupine patch, orchids, baking and crocheting afghans. Ruth especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
