Ruth M. Thompson

Ruth Marie Thompson, age 94, of Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at The Waterview Pines in Virginia, Minnesota.

Ruth was born on March 18, 1929 to Oliver and Helga J. (Sorenson) Langei in Pennington County, Minnesota on the family farm.

On December 22, 1948 she was united in marriage to Gilman Bernell Thompson.

Ruth enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and baking.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Helga Langei; husband, Gilman Thompson; son, Dennis Thompson; grandsons, Michael and Brian Ostman; brother, Don; and son-in-law, David Harju.

Ruth is survived by her children: Judy (Eugene) Denny of Biwabik, MN, Kathleen (Bob) Wait of Cloquet, MN, Sandra Harju of International Falls, MN, Gloria (Butch) Pavelich of Eveleth, MN, and Gary Thompson of International Falls, MN; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Stamm of Cavalier, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Per Ruth's wishes, no funeral services will be held.
