Roger was born February 28,1956 to James and Edna Milton of Kinney, Minnesota, the youngest of their 10 children. He grew up a true Iron Ranger, graduating from Martin Hughes High School in Buhl, followed by vocational training before entering the mining industry. For the past decade, Roger worked as a carpenter for AEOA and was a proud union member.
A self-proclaimed wild man in his youth, Roger settled down on August 18, 2012, when he was united in marriage to Sandy Daniels at their home overlooking Kinney Pit. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and their home was often the hub of activity and a gathering place where all were welcome. Roger was an avid angler and outdoorsman, and also a proud father and grandfather, who was always available for support and guidance, weekend outings, or simply a quick visit.
The family wishes to thank the nursing and medical staff at St. Luke's Hospital for their compassionate care.
He will be remembered by his wife, Sandy; children, Lisha (Tracy Roberts) Gobats, Myles (Renee Anderson) Milton, and Michelle Milton; brothers, Joseph (Emilie) Milton, Robert (Gail) Milton, and Earl (JoAnne) Milton; sisters, Lois Hadrava, Lila (Ivan) Himmelright, Jean (Russel) Voss, and Joanne (Rich) Halverson; grandchildren, Brittany and Summer Albrecht, Mariah, Maleah, and Desirae Milton, Rylie Daniels, Zephaniah Collins, and Daisy Johnson; step-children, Cassi (Ethan Brinkman) Daniels, Brittany (Chad Stevens) Nattress, and Derek Nattress; and by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and his cat, Kitty.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Milton Jr. and Delbert Milton; and an infant child Joseph.
