Rickie Lauseng Obituary

Rickie Allen Lauseng, 63, of Palo, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at his home from a heart attack. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Visitation will be on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and one-hour prior to the service. Pastor Cory Rintala will officiate. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Rickie was born July 26, 1954 in Watertown, SD to Donald and Irene (Borchert) Lauseng. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1972. On July 21, 1973, he was united in marriage to Sherry Heikkila. Rickie worked very hard and made a lot of friends in all his jobs. He retired from USS after 31 years then worked for C.C. Wingers, then St. Louis County in Palo until his death.

Rickie enjoyed bowling, playing softball, hunting, fishing, camping, vintage snowmobiling, playing with his tractors and backhoe, saunas on Fridays with his brother-in-law, John Harder, friend, Ken Swentick, and fishing buddy, George Lahti, spending time with family and friends and his pets Dana, Missy, Rocky, and Kaya.

He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and all his relatives and his friends. He was a funny guy and loved to have fun and make others laugh.

The family would like to thank the local ambulance service and the sheriffs department for their care and compassion.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Lauseng of Hoyt Lakes; his wife of 44 years, Sherry of Palo; daughter, Corissa (Mark) Lindell of Gheen; granddaughter, Alina (Kyle) Kangas of Hibbing; son, Chad (Shelly) Lauseng of Duluth; granddaughter, Samantha Lanpher of Duluth; brother, Donald (Nancy) Lauseng of South Carolina; sister, Dixie (John) Harder of Hoyt Lakes; sister-in-law, Judie Paul of Palo; brothers-in-law, Jim Paul of Palo and Gary Halmet of Biwabik; and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his dad, Donald Lauseng and brother, Dale Lauseng, Sr.
