We are saddened to announce the passing of Raymond Allen Dean, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather. He passed away on Sunday June 2nd, 2024, at the age of 69.
He is survived by his daughters Jessica and Katy (Duncan), sister Monie, niece Stacey, grandkids Delaney, Jonathon, William, and great grandkids Gabriel, Alexander, Grace. He was born in Hibbing on May 11, 1955, to parents Raymond and Mercedes Dean and spent over the last 20 years in Buhl.
He was a baseball fan as a kid and was a strong hockey player in high school, something that his grandson Jonathon shares with him. Ray spent most of his career working as a heavy equipment operator in mines and highways across Minnesota, Michigan, and Florida, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 49. He finished his career with Commercial Specialty Contracting.
Ray loved spending his time fishing, hunting, and cutting wood. His favourite place to be was his hunting shack in Koochiching that he shared with his close friend Wally. Ray was a very strong man and never let things slow him down. He has gone on a forever hunting and fishing trip with Boo-Boo.
