Marjorie Ann Ellis

Marjorie (Marge) Ann Ellis, 84, born July 2, 1933 in Bemidji, MN, went to meet her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Riverside Chapel in Forbes, MN. Pastor Mark Mathes will officiate. Visitation will start at 11:00am prior to the funeral service. A private Interment will take place later in the spring. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Marge lived her life in service to others. It's so fitting, that her company is called ‘Happy Trail Tours'. Because, that term so aptly describes the way she lived: Devoted to family, friends and her career and to creating unforgettable experiences for her many friends and clients. We'll never forget Marge's hysterically funny stories as she entertained her many guests on the long bus rides or her delicious homemade oatmeal cookies-a staple of Happy Trails Tours!

But, Marge was so much more: Good and loyal wife to the same man for 66 years; loving, supportive, and proud Mom to her 5 children, She adored her grand, great-grand and even great-great-grandchildren. She was a fabulous cook, gardener, homemaker and entrepreneur (Marge launched several businesses), successfully juggling her career and family. She spent 20 years at Pyramid Life Insurance Co., her sales earning prestigious awards including: ‘Presidents, Million Dollar and Diamond Club'.

The entire family is grateful for the love, prayers, letters and gifts received during her last months. The family thanks all her visitors, including Pastor Mark of Riverside Chapel, the staff of St. Raphael's for the loving care provided during her stay, and the staff / volunteers of East Range Hospice for assistance during her last days. If Marge could, she would cheerfully sing, ‘Happy Trails to you - Until we meet again'!

Marge is survived by: Husband Grant; Sons, Douglas (Janet) Ellis and Robert (Lori) Ellis; Daughters, Sharon (Tom) Holcomb, Diane (Larry) Olds, Dorothy (Steve) Luukkonen; 12 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren and another soon.

Preceded in death by loving parents, Elmer and Anna (Odegard) Lease; sister, Florence Lease; Mother-in-law, Edith (Ellis) Nesbitt; her Fathers-in-law, Ralph Ellis and Reuben Nesbitt; infant grandson, Chad Reuben Luukkonen; and many extended family members and close friends.
