Marie Elayne Grozdanich

Marie Elayne (Popovich) Grozdanich, age 81 of Pengilly, MN passed away on July 22, 2018 as a result of her battle with cancer. Per her wishes, a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Hibbing.

Marie was born on March 18, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MN to Louis (Luka) and Angeline (Platisha) Popovich. She attended Greenway High School graduating in 1955, followed by attending Itasca Community College. She was married to Robert Grozdanich in Marble, MN on July 25, 1958. Together, they made their family home on their self created property known as Grozy's Point located on Swan Lake in Pengilly, MN.

Marie enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and all of their activities, including time with her special friends playing cards, attending concerts, and numerous bonfires.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Burns; brother, Eli Popovich; and daughter, Nancy Grozdanich-Lipinski.

She is survived by daughters, Roberta (Birdie) Oddo of Hibbing, MN and Jeanne (Beaner) Grozdanich-Nelson (Glenn Nelson) of Knoxville, TN; brother, Marko Popovich (Kay); sister-in-law, Marie Miklya; grandsons, Anthony Oddo, Nikolas and Nathan Nelson; step-granddaughters, Jennifer (David) Butcher and Tiffany Oddo; son-in-law, Jeffrey Lipinski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
