Lyle Dennis Thoreson

Lyle Thoreson, age 55, of Virginia, Minnesota, passed into peaceful slumber at his home on December 29, 2024.

He was born to Leonard and Loretta (Ardelle) Thoreson of Embarrass, Minnesota, on January 30, 1969, in Aurora, Minnesota. Lyle was a 1987 graduate of Babbitt High School, and worked construction before gaining employment at the Eveleth mine for nearly 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a proud member of the 49ers and later the United Steelworkers unions.

Lyle will be greatly missed by his wife, Vicki Thoreson (Cochran); daughters, Savannah and Holly Thoreson; his father, Leonard Thoreson; sister, Lynne (Jeff) Judnick; and grandchildren, nephews, lifelong friends, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lyle was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta (Ardelle) Thoreson (Nygaard); and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Lyle’s Life will be held on his birthday, January 30, 2025, at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia, Minnesota, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
