Larry Scott Williams, 72, of Iron, died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, February 11, 2024.
He was born on August 13, 1951, in Virginia, Minnesota to Scott L. and June (Curtiss) Williams.
He attended Mt. Iron High School, Mesabi Community College, and the University of Minnesota Duluth.
He married the love of his life, Mary Johnson, on August 18, 1984. They built their home in Iron, with their own hands and the help of friends.
After working a short while for U.S. Steel and the State of Minnesota, he opened the CPA firm Williams & Co in Virginia.
Larry was a Ranger at heart enjoying fishing, hunting, skiing on land and water, snowmobiling, and cooking for crowds of friends and relatives. He’s been called a saint by some for his big, kind heart and caring spirit. He was a friend to many and will be missed by all.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Patti.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; brothers Roy (Kathy), Robert (Robin); sisters Jyll Archambeau, Lori Johnson (Nick); many, many in-laws; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews, and great nieces.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Clinton Town Hall with visitation one hour prior.
