Lanny Frank Nachtmann, 77 years of age, passed away on Friday April 3rd, 2026, at Essentia Health in Virginia, MN.
Lanny was born October 2nd, 1948, in Ashland, WI, to Frank and Elizabeth (Senzig) Nachtmann. He graduated Cotton High School in 1966. Lanny married Genia Marie Kettunen in 1967, and they had three children. He primarily worked for LTV Steel Mining Company for several decades. Lanny married Carol Jeanne Pick on September 23rd, 1995. They enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage. During this time Lanny went on to work at LaBounty until retirement. He got to travel the world as a trainer for repairing their equipment.
Lanny was a very creative and talented Jack of all Trades. He could design and build just about anything. He was a master welder who designed and built his own sawmill. Although not by trade, he was a skilled carpenter, and built the family home in Makinen, MN.
Music was one of Lanny's passions. A skilled drummer, he played in multiple bands throughout his life. He was also a good singer and could play a mean blues guitar. Lanny's interests were many. At one point he was learning how to fly a plane and at another he had his own tattoo business.
Lanny loved people, and he was dedicated to serving others helping them achieve and maintain sobriety. He was a man of Faith and leaves us with a legacy of love.
