Kenneth "Buzz" Kemen, age 66, of Virginia, MN passed away on July 19th, 2024 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN.
Buzz was born in Virginia, MN on November 8th, 1957 to Kenneth and Fay Kemen. He graduated from Mt. Iron High School in 1976, and received his degree from Mesabi Range Community and Technical College.
Buzz married Kathy Joelson in 1986. The couple made their home in Virginia with their two daughters.
Buzz worked at Fingerhut for many years, and later served as an electrician for Cleveland Cliffs-Minorca Mine. He retired in 2022.
Buzz most loved being with his family and his little dog, Miley. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin, and hunting and fishing with great friends. He was an avid runner and recorded thousands of miles on the road.
Buzz is survived by his wife, Kathy Kemen; daughters, Elysa Kemen and Amy (David) Dragon; grandchildren, Sam and Sylvie Dragon; sister, Karen Tveit; nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, in-laws, and many cherished friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Fay Kemen.
Buzz's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the professional and attentive staff at Solvay Hospice House, and Essentia Health in Virginia and Duluth for taking such good care of him.
In accordance with his wishes, a celebration of life for Buzz Kemen will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Solvay Hospice House Legacy Fund through the Miller-Dwan Foundation.
