Kelly Anne "Cheech" Nelson, 66, passed away in Virginia, MN, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 19, 1960, to Robert and Nanny Tammaro, graduated from Cherry High School in 1978, and married Jim Nelson on July 11th, 1987, in Forbes, MN.
She held a variety of jobs but, most importantly, she was a dedicated caregiver to her mother, and she was close to her family and friends.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, garage sales, sports, and wintering in Arizona. What she loved most was visiting family and friends and spoiling her beloved dogs. Cheech knew a little about everything and a lot about everyone. She was very social and would do anything for anyone at any time. She understood that our connection to each other gives our lives meaning.
Cheech was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bonnie Tammaro; and her niece and goddaughter, Crystal Latvaaho.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; brother, Anthony "Lee" (Debbie) Tammaro; sister, Connie Udovich; niece, Amanda (Ted) Grishaber; and nephews, Loren and Lucas Hovi and Robert Peterson; aunt, Deda "Suzie" Tammaro; brother-in-law, Mike (Laurene) Berg; as well as great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends, and her precious dog, Bailey.
A special thank you to hospice and the staff at Waterview Pines for their exceptional care.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
