Kathleen Jane Lofquist

Kathleen Jane Lofquist (Kathy), age 72, passed away on August 4, 2024, at home, in Virginia, MN. Born on December 20, 1951, in Duluth, MN, to Robert and Catherine (Caven) Yingling. Kathy graduated from Duluth East H.S.; and married Douglas Lofquist on June 27, 1970.

Kathy was a homemaker by choice, dedicating her time to raising her children and managing her household. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her commitment to her family’s well-being was evident in the love and care she poured into her home; making it a warm and welcoming space for all who entered. She is fondly remembered as a mother figure to many; with her witty sense of humor, offering unwavering support and unconditional love.

Kathy is survived by daughters: Colleen Port (Greg Lee) of Buhl, and Kelly Lofquist of Virginia. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Jocelyn Lofquist, Amber (Eric) Stanaway, Shawn Port, and Mason (Ari) Lofquist; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Cathy) Yingling from Florida; and many other family and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband; premature son, 'Baby Boy'; her parents; and her brother, Douglas Yingling.

A Celebration of Life for Kathy will be held on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buhl-Kinney Senior Center, in Buhl, MN. A private interment at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth, MN will be held at a later date.
