JoAnn Martin

JoAnn Martin, age 89, of Embarrass, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

JoAnn was born on October 7, 1934, to Rose and Albert Riendeau in Plumer, MN.

She had 13 siblings. She graduated from Coleraine. JoAnn was married to Willis C. Martin.

In 1954, JoAnn and Willis moved to Embarrass and raised 6 children.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Willis C. Martin; sisters: Lorraine, Isebell, Gladys, Dolores, Kathleen, and Janice; brothers, Roy, Roland, Lloyd, Rene; child, Marlene Martin; grandchild, Casey Dean Martin; and great-grandchild, Xoii Sky Maki.

JoAnn is survived by her children: Melody, Dale (Terri), Billie Jean (Joel) Monson, Dean, and Willy; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce and Beulah; and brother, Willard.

A night visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia, MN from 5 to 7 p.m. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at St Martin's Catholic Church in Tower, MN at 11 A.M. A luncheon will be held at the Embarrass Town Hall after.
