Jean Irene Rahn

Jean Irene Rahn, 79, of Iron, died Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing.

Jean was born on March 4, 1944 to Julius and Ella Herman in Hutchinson, SD. She grew up in Kalor, SD and attended Scotland High School, graduating from the Class of 1962. She was married to Al Rahn on September 29, 1978 and spent most of her life in Iron. The last thirteen years of her life she wintered in Whitney, TX which she thoroughly enjoyed. Jean had worked at the Bakery Thrift Store in Hibbing and Virginia as well as the Cherry Greenhouse. Jean also enjoyed crafts, metal arts, camping and traveling in her fifth wheel.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years; her dog, Booger; daughters: Wanda (Greg) Aho and Juanita (Ward) Etter; stepson, Carl (Mel) Rahn; stepdaughters: Jeanine (Todd) McClellan, Beth (Tom) Haverkamp; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Ella; her mother and father in-law; and a sister and two brothers.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Range Funeral Home in Hibbing with Carl Rahn speaking. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Cherry-Clinton Township Cemetery.
