Ida E. Hugger Saari

Ida E. Hugger Saari, 97, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Hibbing. Private services will be held. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home, Hibbing. Please sign online guestbook at www.rangefuneralhomes.com.

Ida was born in Drayton, ND to Bertil and Ida (Jacobson) Fridberg on December 23, 1920. She grew up on the farm near Robbin, MN and moved to Hibbing in 1942. In 1945, she was united in marriage to Leland "Bud" Hugger. The couple made their home in the Little Swan and the Swandale area. Bud passed away in 1961. Ida married George Saari in 1965 and moved to live on DuPont Road. After George passed away in 1994, she then moved to the 7th Avenue Apartments in 1996.

Ida is survived by:

Son: Richard (Fawn) Hugger, of Claremore, OK
Grandsons: Dennis Anderson, of Hibbing and Adam Metsa, of Buhl
Granddaughters: Erin (Hugger) DiFilippo, of Coatesville, PA and Karie Anderson, of Hopkins
Numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
Special son-in-law: Roger Metsa, of Angora
Step-daughter: Sandra Antonelli, of Hibbing
Step-son: Donald (Mary) Saari, of Portsmouth NH
Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland Hugger; 2nd husband, George Saari; 2 daughters, Barbara Hugger Philips, of Hibbing, and Carole Hugger Metsa, of Angora; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
