Helmi Irene Elizabeth Packa

Helmi Packa, 85, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Duluth. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Range Funeral Home at 3:00 pm with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Marvin Aultman will officiate. Helmi Irene Elizabeth Packa was born October 8, 1932 to John and Nellie (Juola) Wiinanen. She graduated from Cherry High School. On May 24, 1952, she was united in marriage to Roy Packa. Helmi worked for the Cherry Co-Op Store, and the Cherry School as a bus driver for nine years. She resided in Cherry all her life.

She loved sports, various crafts and was an avid knitter, making sure that all grandchildren and great grandchildren had their own afghans as babies and when they wed.

Helmi was a founding member of Grace Bible Church.

She is survived by:

38 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; 6 brothers; and 2 sisters
