Helen Niemi

Helen Irene Niemi, age 92, died April 8, 2026, at Essentia Health - Virginia Care Center.
She was born March 6, 1934, to Waino and Fanny (Puurula) Kokko. She was a 1952 graduate of the Gilbert High School. Helen married her husband, Edmund E. Niemi on October 29, 1955. They were happily married until Edmund’s death in 2011.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, son Dale Niemi, daughter Diane Niemi, her parents, her step-father Toivo Silda, and her sister Ruth Kokko. Helen will be interred at the Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia, Minnesota.
