Harold Detweiler Nelson

Harold Detweiler Nelson, 93, of Hibbing, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Guardian Angels. A Memorial Gathering will be held Tuesday, August 7th at 11:00 A.M., with a short remembrance from 12:45 to 1:00 at Range Funeral Home in Hibbing. Pastor Roland Weaver will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Hibbing.

Harold was born May 26, 1925 in Bemidji, MN to Gunder and Bessie (Detweiler) Nelson. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Harold married Edna Graves on August 24, 1946 in Bemidji. They made their home in Park Rapids until moving to Hibbing in 1952 where they have resided ever since.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Gunder and Bessie; and brother, Bernard.

Survivors include:

Wife of 72 years: Edna

Daughters: Patricia (Ronald) Mihelich and Anna (Steve) Jurenes

Grandchildren: Paul (Heather) Bovee, Dustin Bovee and Aprille (Bill) Beyer

Great Grandchildren: Josh, Brecken, Nevaeh, Jonathan, Jacob, and Brooke

Step Granddaughters: Jaime, Jenny and families
