Harlan Pernu Jr., 57, of Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Duluth. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Virginia at 2:00 pm with visitation one-hour prior. Pastor Brad Felix will officiate. Harlan "Scooter" Raymond Pernu, Jr. was born August 9, 1960 in Virginia to Harlan, Sr. and Carmen (Brunfelt) Pernu. He graduated from Virginia Schools in 1980. Scooter loved writing poetry and had some published. He liked putting models together. He loved history, especially WWII and Vietnam. Scooter felt very strongly about honoring our past and present military personnel. He was a very patriotic young man who loved his country and it showed.
Scooter lived his life with courage. His life was difficult, but he never complained. He Always had a positive outlook and was an inspiration for everyone. No one could ever say a negative thing about Scooter. He was greatly loved.
