Gloria M. Mattila, 82, of Mountain Iron, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mountain Iron. Pastor Ellen Taube will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Gloria Mae Mattila was born June 18, 1935 in Mountain Iron to Benjamin and Cora (Paoletti) Secola. She graduated from Mountain Iron High School in 1953. On February 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to William "Bud" Mattila in Mountain Iron. The couple moved to California in 1958 where they raised their family. Gloria wanted to come back to her roots, so they moved back to Mountain Iron in 1976. Gloria worked for the Mountain Iron Buhl schools as a school administrator for over 20 years.
Gloria loved her road trips to Fortune Bay. She was known for her sense of style, with plenty of "Bling". She especially enjoyed her time with family and friends.
She had a great sense of humor and made friends wherever she would go.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by:
Children: Connie (Gordon) Jenkinson of Colleyville, TX; Darrell Mattila of Mosheim, TN; The Reverend Daniel (Lawrence) Mattila of Sandy Hook, CT
Grandchildren: Jamie Jenkinson, Carrie (Grant) McNelis, Christopher Mattila, Jessi Mattila, and Casey Mattila
