Geraldine was born in Little Falls, MN on November 14, 1942. She passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 8. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at Faith United Lutheran Church, Iron Junction, MN on April 27, from noon until 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Care Partners of Eveleth, St. Michael's Health and Rehabilitation Center, or this church.
Geri is a graduate of St Cloud beauty college. Many know her talents as a beautician. She was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 35. She continued to do what she loved. She enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, such as bicycle riding, gardening, and cross-country skiing. She also enjoyed the YMCA, TOPS, home-makers group, and her crafts.
Geri was an amazing volunteer at the YMCA, primarily for aqua aerobics. She received numerous volunteer awards, including Adult volunteer of the year, 1994, and was recognized at the state level.
Geri was loved by all who knew her. Her vibrant and optimistic personality was encouraging, yet truthful as she often said what needed to be heard.
She expressed her “hattitude” as a candid member of the Red Hat Society. She loved the fun and friendship and traveling with all her Red Hat Ladies.
Our family appreciates the faculty at St. Michael’s. We really appreciate her friends who took the time to visit and care for Geri, which greatly improved her quality of life. We thank you.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John, and her parents, Phyllis and John.
Geri is survived by her husband Robert, sons Michael and Scott, Scott’s wife Connie, granddaughters Morgan and Mallory, step grandsons Casey and Lucas, and beloved pet Maggie.
After Glow
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow of smiles
when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering
softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories that I leave
when life is done.
