Elsie Kathleen Weiss

Elsie K. Weiss, 91, longtime resident of Hibbing, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018. A Memorial service will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 at Range Funeral Home in Hibbing at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Elsie was born to parents, Jacob and Borghild (Oier) Holm, in Aitkin County on April 13, 1926. She married Elmer Weiss on April 13, 1952. Elsie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardens, writing poetry and her cats.

Elsie was a member of the Wells Woodland Garden Club. She assisted with the Wells Woodland 4-H Club. She was also a member of the Little Swan Ladies Club, Sons of Norway, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. In retirement, Elsie enjoyed winters in Texas and summers at Dewey Lake.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; brothers, George and Norman (Violet); great granddaughter, Gracie Rose Sandys.

Children: Darleen (Charles) Gargano and Richard (Cindy) Weiss

Grandchildren: Matt (Angie) Sandys, Tim (Jaymi) Weiss, Dan (Talia) Sandys, Callie (Jim) Pelican, and Erica Johnson
