Denise (Harrington) Hill, born May 6, 1958, passed away surrounded by her daughter and lifelong friends on May 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and courage. Denise will be everlastingly remembered for her wide-reaching love—as a dedicated mother and doting grandmother—and for her tremendous resiliency.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Nicole Hill, who continues to embody Denise's indomitable spirit. Also remembering her fondly are her brothers, Dennis and Jeff Harrington, who provided support throughout her life. Denise's love was also extended to her grandchildren, Carter and Jameson Snapp; and bonus grandchildren: Kyley, Justin and Trever Snapp; along with their father, Mark Snapp, who enriched her life with immense joy. Also, her sisters-in-law, Vicky and Kathy Harrington, who were an important part of her extended family. Many nieces, nephews and "adopted" sons and daughters; along with many close and dear friends round out the list of those who miss her.
Denise has joined her father, Wesley Harrington; mother, Norma Harrington; brothers, Edwin and Edward Harrington; sister-in-law, Barb Harrington; and her dearly missed granddaughter, Gabriella Snapp; along with numerous friends in eternity.
She graduated from Nashwauk-Keewatin High School in 1976, and found her partner in marriage in 1980. The couple joyfully welcomed their child in 1981, marking a pivotal moment in Denise's life. Her love for her family was always paramount in her actions and guidance.
Denise was an ardent fan of The Wizard of Oz, granting her immense pleasure and relaxation. When it came to sports, her loyalty lay with The Minnesota Vikings, demonstrating her unwavering support and enthusiasm.
Denise was a beacon of positivity with an infectious spirit that encompassed being loving, giving, strong-willed, optimistic, courageous, and dedicated. She firmly believed in treating others as one would like to be treated, a lesson she imparted on all who knew her.
Among her many accomplishments, Denise prized being a mom and a grandma above all else, often citing it as her greatest joy. Coupled with her triumphant battle against breast cancer, her courage and resilience were inspiring to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Denise's life, though marked by trials and tribulations, was a testament to her indomitable spirit, loving nature, and unwavering positivity.
Though our hearts ache to say goodbye as Denise closes her earthly chapter, we find solace in knowing she has reached a realm beyond comparison. The journey through life's trials has led her to the ultimate destination, where God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away (Revelation 21:4 KJV). She is truly home, over the rainbow and forever in grace.
A funeral service for Denise will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Nashwauk United Methodist Church with the service starting at 2:00 p.m. and the visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pequot Lakes, Minn. on Friday, May 15th, at 12:00 P.M.
