Delores "Frosty" (Maroste) Cunningham

Delores "Frosty" Cunningham, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27th at Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Chisholm, Minnesota.

Frosty was born July 26th, 1934 in Virginia, Minnesota to Uno and Nora (Greaney) Maroste where she grew up with her 3 siblings. In her early 20's she moved to Illinois where she met and married Donald Cunningham and together they raised 5 children.

In 1979 Frosty moved back to Virginia where she led a 4-H chapter, Kids Club, and a garden project with the children in her neighborhood community. She also volunteered at the Niijii center in Virginia, was active in her church, and attended night classes at Mesabi College for 2 years with a focus on Human Services.

Throughout her life, her guiding light has been her spiritual faith and her belief in the good in everyone. Her favorite sayings were "Praise the Lord", "Amen", and "Better days are coming". She will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Frosty was preceeded in death by her daughter Tracy Biederman, step-son Tony Cunningham, and her brother Lawrence Maroste.

She is survived by her children Crystal (James) McKeever, Susan Cunningham, Lester Cunningham, and Mark Cunningham; her brother Dennis Maroste, sister Elizabeth (Betty) White; and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will begin at 2pm, Saturday, April 4, 2026 in the Range Funeral Home in Virginia, Minnesota with visitation beginning at 1 pm.  Interment will be at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Greaney, Minnesota at a later date.
