Delano Franklin “Matti” Inkman

Delano Franklin "Matti" Inkman, 72, of Nashwauk, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Nashwauk Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Pastor Aaron Lofgren will officiate. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Hibbing.

Del was born May 11, 1945 in Grand Rapids to Max and Irene (Huovila) Inkman. He was united in marriage to Mary Ranger on June 11, 1966. Del joined the U.S. Air Force in 1964, right after high school and served 8 years with duties in Japan and Vietnam. He joined the MN Army National Guard and served 17 ½ years. He retired with 25 ½ years of total service. Del worked for Menozzi and Mancuso Oil. He retired from the Itasca County Park Systems in 2009.

Del was a member of the Nashwauk Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working with the pasty group. He also belonged to the V.F.W. Post #5516.

Del was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Harold.

Del is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Kevin; daughter, Kim; granddaughter, Emma; sister, Pauline (Les) Cullen; brother, Richard (Joyce) Inkman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
