Dale E. Meyer, 81, of Eveleth passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Sand Lake Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate. Lunch will be served at Range Funeral Home in Virginia at 2:30 pm. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Dale was born September 12, 1936 to John and Lillian Meyer. He grew up in North Dakota before moving to the Virginia area at the age of 17, where he began to do construction work for the local mines. Dale was united in marriage to Janet Raymond on September 21, 1957 where the couple made their home in Britt until 1965 when they moved to Fayal Township. It was there Dale started his hobby farm.
Dale was an avid hunter and fisherman; he adored his yearly goose hunts in Roseau and attending the Bay Field Apple Festival. He loved being with his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Janet; son, Ricky Meyer; great-granddaughter, Aubrey; sisters, Vera Henningsen, and Ardis Aberle; and brothers, Roy Meyer, Ben Meyer, and Johnny Meyer.
He is survived by:
Daughter: Donna (Richard) Jagunich of Eveleth
Son: Michael (Deb) Meyer of Eveleth
9 Grandchildren: Mathew, Joseph, Tanya, Richard, Nicole, Jenny, Sara, Katrina, Jolene
11 Great-grandchildren: Chastity, Mathew Jr., Carter, Vayda, Liam, Maleeah, Estyn, Finnley, Kylie, Grace, Everly
Sisters: Betty Elsner, Sharon Field, Deloris Strutz, Virginia Pratschner, Nancy Mangin
Brother: Fred Meyer
Numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
