Bernard Arthur Hovet was born December 26, 1933 in Goodridge MN to Arnold and Julia (Miller) Hovet. He graduated from high school and joined the Air Force, serving four years during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Bernice Frider on July 5, 1956 and resided in Hovland for 7 years while he worked for the forestry department. He then worked at MN Dot of Virginia for 30 years. Bernard was a member of the Eveleth VFW for 12 years and served as Commander for 2 years.

Bernard enjoyed reading books and hunting, fishing, and trapping.

He is survived by:

Wife of 61 years, Bernice of Virginia

Children: William Hovet of Virginia

Dale Hovet of Superior

James Hovet of Virginia

Grandchildren: Daisy Cartier of Duluth and Tad Hovet of Superior

Great Grandchildren: Cruz Cartier of Duluth and Esme of Duluth

He was preceded in death by his parents
