Alice Bernadette Anderson has been called to her heavenly home on August 15, 2025.
Born on March 22, 1946, in Ely, MN, to Veikko & Frances Maki. She passed away peacefully at Waterview Woods in Eveleth, MN, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and other health ailments.
Alice is survived by her devoted husband, Douglas Anderson; their daughters, Lori Akkanen, Dawn Marie (Roy) Martin, and Holly (Daniel) DeJoode; grandchildren: Ben, Darren and Rachel Akkanen, Holly, Heather and Ashley Monk, Jordyn Faith, Tyler, Troy and Gavin Kontos, and Kaija and Felix DeJoode; as well as her five great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters: Patsy (Reinhold) Johnson, Ceil Nolley, Frances (Bill) Stone, and sister-in-law, Elaine Maki; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
After high school, Alice married Douglas Anderson and moved to Babbitt, MN, where she was a busy wife, mother and homemaker. She later worked as a hospital kitchen aide, and a convenience store clerk.
In her younger years she was active in archery and snowmobiling and loved to go for walks.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and various other crafts.
A service of remembrance will be at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Babbitt on Friday, August 22, 2025. Lunch will be served following the service.
